IJLAMP for DARKTwo identical lampshades and a changeable colour filter are the components of the bulb-shaped IJLamp light. A standard lightbulb fixture holds them together. The dimensions of the components are entirely adjusted to the desired light throw and available sizes of energy efficient bulbs. A single lampshade can also be installed as a ceiling or a wall lamp. Several lamphades can be piled on top of each other in a flat box, which reduces transport costs and environment taxes levied. Because assembly does not require any glue or screws, recycling of packaging remains straighforward as well. > DARK |

How it works! This animated instruction (1:24) about the IJ-Lamp has recently been added to this website. Jacob de Baan met Yoshiko Miyaguchi at Salone del Mobile. She showed him some of her earlier work and he was enthousiastic about her idea to create an animation about the IJ-lamp immediately! |

The caps and filters are produced and packed in Europe (the Netherlands and Italy). Several caps and filters can be stacked in one flat box. With this approach we avoid unnecessary environmental damage and high transport costs. No glue or screws are used, which allows for easy waste separation |
